Vandy season opener versus Miami (OH) will be on ESPNU

Nashville, Tenn. - Vanderbilt will make its second appearance ever on ESPNU when the Commodores travel to Miami (Ohio) for the 2008 season opener on Thursday, August 28. Kickoff for the Vanderbilt-Miami (Ohio) opener has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m., CT. The game will be played at Yager Stadium in Oxford, Ohio.

Thought this was funny how they reported about my friend and teammate’s text message:
Georgia center Fernando Velasco fired off an urgent text message on Friday night to Vanderbilt receiver Sean Walker.
Beat Tennessee. That’s what Velasco wanted his buddy from Jefferson County High School in Wrens to do Saturday to help clear a path for Georgia to get to the SEC championship game.
Velasco and the No. 8 Bulldogs did their part, overcoming an early 10-point deficit to grab a 24-13 victory over No. 22 Kentucky Saturday in Sanford Stadium.
